Home visits

Home visits will only be carried out for housebound patients, or patients who are deemed too ill by the doctor to come to the surgery.  If you need a home visit, please telephone before 10.00am.  Please expect the receptionist to ask for details of your problem so that the urgency of the visit may be assessed.

You may also be asked for directions to your home and your telephone number in case the doctor wishes to telephone you.  Please understand that home visiting in a rural area is very time consuming for the doctor, so we can only carry out home visits for housebound patients, or those who are genuinely too ill to come to the surgery.

Children with fevers and rashes can safely be brought to the surgery.  Please inform the receptionist on arrival.

If you feel you are too unwell to drive yourself, please ask a friend or relative to bring you to the surgery or come by taxi or public transport. You can find the bus timetable details here
